Near where I work is one of the nicest shops I’ve found recently. It’s on Chichester Rents, an alley that takes you back to Sweeney Todd’s London, only less cut throats and pick-pockets. The shop is filled like whipped cream and frothy milk, with great jewellery [mostly under the £200 mark], coffee table books [i hate to use that phrase as I would buy them as reference, but “coffee table” easiest way to bracket them] and others odds and sods. It’s called French’s Dairy and they’re just opening a new shop on Chancery Lane[today: Friday 10th July 2009] filled with little gifts for men and women. Its has a beautiful white and blue facade which stands out against all the solicitor’s offices, a hop, skip and a jump from Ede and Ravencroft, but that is another story.
I’d like to highlight my two favorite things they sell. Great bracelets by Rafia & Bosa; chunky, colourful, two-tone kitch. I bought a pink on red one with arrow struck hearts! Love it.
Also Patrice jewellery. Its from another world, and looks like it’s travelled the world in the berth of a Spice Ship since Nathaniel found his Nutmeg!
If you go visit, I’d love to know what you thought of the shop or if you were inspired to buy a little treat? A friend of mine bought a pretty card today!
